What can I say? This was very unusual for me to see wild boar like this in a shop in Tuscany. We spent a day driving around south of Pomarance and encountered a street fair in a small village. Wandering around town, we found this shop and others whose specialties were boar, sausage and cheese.
This is a slideshow of pictures I took in Amsterdam and Haarlem, featuring the floating flower market, cheese, architecture, canals, Rembrandt’s House and some museums.
I made a slideshow of some highlights from Bruges: architecture, canals, chocolates, fish market, and the Groeninge museum art. This city is made for walking!
A balloon hovers over the historic Charles Bridge in Prague. Probably a great view!
I saw this yellow boat tied along the shore in Varenna, on Lake Como in Italy. Across the lake were snow covered mountains, so I know the water was pretty cold. (Didn’t stop my kids from going in!)
Varenna is a town on Lake Como in Italy. We spent a day exploring and found a wisteria-covered walkway along the water’s edge. From there I spied this perky boathouse. I love the orange stripes and tile roof.
European storefronts are generally a feast for the eyes and these hanging soaps caught my attention. They looked like citrus, smelled really good and were made with olive oil. Pomarance is a small village just south of Volterra, in the Tuscany region.
